Ruth Kastner

Ruth Kastner has always enjoyed music and was classically trained on violin, earning her B.M.Ed at Peabody Institute in Baltimore.  She later switched to piano and voice, and has sung with Cantores in Ecclesia at the annual William Byrd Festival in Portland, OR and Schola Cantorum at the Cathedral of St. Matthew in DC. However, as physics seems to be 'in the genes' of her family, she subsequently studied physics in graduate school and ended up in Philosophy of Physics as a profession. She has written several books on this topic and can be found on the internet in various interviews (e.g. on Mind-Body Solution, https://youtu.be/COq_g5EVbrQ). Previously based in upstate New York, she moved to Santa Fe in late 2024 to be with family and is happy to have found such a rich variety of artistic and musical opportunities here. Her favorite type of music is sacred a cappella music of the Renaissance era (favorite composer William Byrd), but she enjoys a wide variety of choral genres and styles including jazz and gospel.
