I’m Meg York, and I have a Clarinet Performance degree from University of New Mexico with an emphasis in Early Music and Flamenco Dance accompaniment. I travel extensively, clarinet in hand, to connect and interact with people and cultures, including living in Turkey, India and Greece. I’ve led over a hundred live music community events within Arabic, Balkan, Flamenco, Nepali, Persian, Romanian, Turkish, and Yiddish communities for over thirty years. I love to share my experiences through interactive workshops and collective performances. I'm the Artistic Director of the multicultural Tarjama Ensemble and an ASCAP recording artist for Warner Brother Films. I create scores for 5 Rhythms, ballet, modern, and folkloric styles of dance as well as independent films. It’s a thrill to sing with Sangre de Christo Chorale as second Alto – music is indeed the universal language! Music and dance build bridges from the past to the future by basking in the present. www.megyork.com
